Community Outreach Program at Kodanchery
The community outreach programme was conducted as part of the Unnat Bharath Abhiyan, a flagship program of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. The students enquired the village residents about their family details, education, income, profession in addition to their awareness and access to various government schemes. The team from Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences also surveyed their general & medical requirements.

Eye Camp at Kodanchery
The team from Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences consisting of students pursuing optometry carried out basic vision testing for over 100 residents of the Kodancherry village

Puthagam - A Book donation drive
A book donation drive titled ‘Puthagam’ was carried out throughout the last week of February by the Rotaract Club of Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences. The student volunteers placed drop boxes all over the Thandalam campus and spread awareness about the book donation drive. Around 504 books ranging from school books, textbooks, self-help books and story books were collected in this book donation drive

Rotaract Club Installation
The First Installation ceremony of the Rotaract club of Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences was held on 25th February, 2022 wherein Rtr. Hirthika K M pursuing III year Cardio Vascular Perfusion Technology and Rtr. Guberan S K pursuing III year Renal Sciences were inducted as the charter president and secretary along with their team as board members of the club

CME & Workshop for OTAT Students
A CME and Workshop was conducted on 26th February, 2022 for the students of Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology, under the department of Anaesthesiology, Saveetha Medical College and Hospital. The theme of the programme was ‘Committed to Care’. Lectures on the topic Supraglottic Airway Devices, Non-invasive monitoring, Safe Practices in Operation Theatre and Ethics in Anaesthesia were delivered by in house faculties and invited speakers. The event also included a workshop providing hands on training in Airway Management in Simulated Environment.

Women's Day 2022
Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences celebrated International Women’s Day with utmost fervour. Numerous events were organized on March 7th and 8th to mark the occasion.

Rotaract Week
Rotaract Club of Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences (RCSCAHS) observed the Rotaract week from 7th – 14th March, 2022. UN Peace Oath was administered to over 200 students to mark the day of Peace and Conflict prevention/resolution. In order to signify ‘Disease Prevention and Treatment’ the students launched a project titled ‘Piniyilla Manithan’ in which simple first aid techniques are shared every week. With a vision of taking safe sanitary practices to the next generation, the RCSCAHS members visited the Panchayat Union Middle School, Agaramel Nazarathpet and taught hand sanitation to over 150 students.

Sleep study Workshop
A workshop on sleep study was conducted for the students of Respiratory Therapy and Neuro Electro Physiology on 14th March, 2022 where over 50 students participated. Mr. L.D Murthe, Business Head - South India, Somno Medics was the resource person.

Economy and Community Development Webinar
A webinar on ‘Economy and Community Development’ was conducted to sensitize the students of Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences towards the economy. Prof. S Rajendran, Assistant Professor, PG. Department of Commerce, Sindhi College of Arts and Science, Chennai delivered the lecture on 12th March, 2022.

Webinar on Cardiac CT Artifact
Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences conducted a webinar for the students of Medical Imaging Technology on 24th March, 2022. The speaker Mr. Thulasi Dass, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Department of Radiology and Imaging Science, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai delivered a lecture on ‘Cardiac CT Artifact.’ The webinar was attended by over 100 participants

Optofest
Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences organized numerous competitions ranging from Music quiz, e-poster, poetry writing, painting to cooking without fire and fruit & vegetable carving to mark the occasion of ‘World Optometry Day.’ Winners of the competitions were felicitated in a grand valedictory event on 30th March, 2022 which concluded the ‘Optofest’.

Guest Lecture on Phytochemistry and anti-cancer research
Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences organized a guest lecture on the topic ‘Phytochemistry and anti-cancer research’ on 31st March, 2022. The captivating lecture was delivered by Dr. Seethalakshmi Illanchezian, Founder & Director, Life Teck Research Centre, Chennai. Dr. Seethalakshmi shared insights about the essential process of phytochemistry and its application in Cancer research. Around 250 undergraduate students attended the lecture.

Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences hosted a webinar on the topic ‘Transport of Radioactive Materials’ for the students pursuing B.Sc. (AHS) Radiotherapy on 2nd April, 2022. Ms. Desika V, Lecturer, Department of Medical Physics, ACS Medical College and Hospital was the resource person for the event.

Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences hosted a webinar on the topic ‘Marker Enzymes in Liver Disease’ for the students pursuing B.Sc. (AHS) Medical Laboratory Technology on 8th April, 2022.

Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences hosted a webinar on the topic ‘Innovations in Medical Applications of Radiation’ on 9th April, 2022 as part of the Institution’s Innovation Council.
Mr. Hariprasanth Karthikeyan, Medical Physicist and Dosimetrist at The Cancer Centre, East Carribean, St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda was the resource person for the event.

The students pursuing Optometry were taken on an industrial visit to ‘Essilor’ factory located in Guindy Industrial estate, Chennai on 13th April, 2022. The learnt about the lens manufacturing processes and gained an invaluable industrial experience

Dr. Jayasree R, Professor & Head of Department, Department of Biotechnology, Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai graced the occasion and enthralled the students with her lecture.

Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences has planned to celebrate ‘International Yoga Day’ with a lineup of events leading up to the ‘Yoga Day’ on 22nd June, 2022. As a part of this series was a webinar titled ‘Importance of Yoga in Physical Well-Being’ organized on 2nd May, 2022. Ms. Jaganya B, Assistant Professor, Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, Chennai was the resource person for the event.

Careeer Guidance Webinar
Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences in association with Aram IAS Academy organized an interactive webinar ‘Career Opportunities in Civil Services’ on 12th May, 2022. The webinar was streamed to over 800 undergraduate and postgraduate students where Mr. Manikandan IAS, Chief Development Officer, Agra District, Uttar Pradesh and Mr. Vibukrishnan IPS, Officer Trainee shared insights about their civil services journey and motivated the students to venture into civil services.

Guest lecture on ‘Basics of mechanical ventilators’
A guest lecture on ‘Basics of mechanical ventilators’ was conducted by Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences for students working in Intensive Care Units and dealing with mechanical ventilators. Around 100 undergraduate and postgraduate students belonging to various departments such as Respiratory therapy, Critical Care Technology, Trauma Care Management, Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia technology, Dialysis technology and Cardiovascular perfusion technology attended and benefitted from the lecture. Mr. M. Kishorekumar, B.Sc RT, M.Sc. RT, FNIV, Respiratory Therapist and Research Scholar, Chettinad Academy of Research and Education was the resource person for the event.

Culturals
Students of Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences organized a cultural event on 20th and 21st May, 2022. Many events such as dance, mime and face painting were conducted to entertain the students.

Dengue Awareness Program
The Department of Public health and Preventive medicine, Government of Tamilnadu organised an awareness generation meeting on control and prevention of Dengue to students of Saveetha Colleges of Allied Health Sciences, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences. More than 250 students actively participated in the said programme. Mr. K Manivarma, Lecturer in Medical Entomology, Madras Medical College delivered a lecture on prevention and control of Dengue. Dr. D. Jagadeswaran, Principal, Saveetha College of Allied health sciences thanked Department of Public health and Preventive medicine for creating the awareness among students.

Clean cooum campaign
Around 35 students from Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences participated in Clean cooum campaign. The lead organization is the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) along with other personnels from CSIF, CRPF and Greater Chennai corporation. The Vice Chancellor - SIMATS and other faculties along with NDRF personnels participated in the event.
